Description: Come along with Linda from 4ZZZ Alphabet Soup’s Talkin’ Bushwalkin’, as she wants to show you her favourite hikes around Brisbane! This is Linda’s favourite waterhole and also one of her favourite hikes, as it is very unique and special! We will take this rock hopping adventure up Northbrook Creek to reach Brisbane’s coolest water hole: Northbrook Gorge. This special trip is a mixture between walking, rock hopping and swimming. And no, swimming is not optional, it is mandatory! The only way to get to the gorge is to jump in and swim!
Trail notes: This is a barely-there track that follows a creek. The hike itself is not particularly difficult but it is rated moderate due to the off track nature of the trail. You will be required to swim through 2 patches of the trail in order to complete this track, before ending up at the main swimming hole. Depending on rain these swimming holes can be quite deep, so be sure to pack very lightly. Please do not bring a full backpack unless you are able to keep it dry yourself or do not mind the entire backpack being submerged. If you do not wish to swim, you will not be able to come along on this hike. Please be prepared to walk along slippery rocks, and other tripping hazards. Your shoes will get wet so choose wisely! Your host will bring a basic first aid kit, emergency beacon, several dry bags for valuables and some snacks for everyone to share. Everyone is welcome to put their valuables in a provided dry bag, but please do so at your own risk. 4ZZZ takes no responsibility for your gear. The start of the track has no facilities.
