Foreign Aid is a crucial part of international development but is often misunderstood. Due to national interests and political preferences it is often the first program to be lowered or overlooked when looking at a new budget. This has continued for many years and the recent budget announcement was no different. Brisbane Line's Jack McDonnell spoke with Associate Professor Matt McDonald, a lecturer in the school of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Queensland about foreign aid and why it is important for Australia.
