For the first time in history, an unaccompanied adult woman was allowed to enter a professional football match in Saudi Arabia.
The Al-Ahli vs Al-Batin match was part of a move to ease the strict rules of Gender separation in the Middle Eastern country, and women not only attended but were also able to help organise the event.
One of the organisers, the 18 year old Sarah Alkashgari stated that it was an achievement for women, claiming the game was a means for showing the world what true Islam means.
