A Palestinian summit responding to the US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital is set to be boycotted by fundamentalist political movements.
Hamas announced on Saturday that it would not be taking part in the summit, objecting against President Mahmoud Abbas’s decision to hold the meeting in the occupied territory of the West Bank.
The political group Islamic Jihad also announced their intentions to avoid the event despite the President’s call for unity, encouraging the Palestinian Liberation Organization to end all ties with the US.
