PNG health officials have called for public autopsies as a possible solution to sorcery-related attacks.
Dr Betty Koka, who heads a provincial health department, has seen cases of sudden deaths blamed on sorcery, which has resulted in attacks on those accused of witchcraft.
Public autopsies could possibly help to educate the public and dispel witchcraft rumours, preventing future assaults.
