Nigel Scullion says no Indigenous people have disputed Australia Day date with him

Australian Minister for Indigenous Affairs, Nigel Scullion claims no Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Australians have spoken to him regarding changing the date of Australia Day.

Earlier in the week, another Indigenous Affairs adviser, Chris Sarra said the celebrations of Australia Day on January 26 is divisive to Australia as it excludes Indigenous Australians.

Although Mr Scullion admitted the first peoples of Australia were treated poorly, he believes many Aboriginal people also celebrate on Australia Day, and changing the date is a very low priority for him.
