Labor has won the recent Morningside by-election, held on Saturday after the sudden resignation of former councillor Shayne Sutton last October.
Kara Cook, the winning candidate, will be representing the Labor Party as the new councillor for Morningside.
The Liberal National Party candidate, Melina Morgan, congratulated Ms Cook on her victory, which she claimed just two hours into the ballot count.
