Members of the Kurdish authority in Syria have called on Syria’s government for assistance against Turkish forces in the border region of Afrin.
Turkey has vowed to ‘crush’ the US-backed Kurdish militia, known as YPG, which it considers a terrorist group.
The Turkish assault began six days ago, with Kurdish officials only yesterday calling on President Bashar al-Assad’s assistance to maintain the border.
