A planned rail strike in Sydney has been suspended by the Fair Work Commission, but significant disruptions are expected over the long weekend.
The six-week ban on industrial action put forward by the Fair Work Commission has put an end to the current plans for a 24-hour rail strike and indefinite ban on overtime work.
The strike, which is over a pay dispute, was planned to take place on Monday and involve up to 2900 train services.
