Calls for a rodeo in South Australia to be cancelled on animal welfare grounds have been ignored, despite the threat of extreme heat.
Temperatures at the Wilmington rodeo are expected to reach up to 44 degrees, leading to pleas from the RSPCA to cancel the event in the interests of the animals.
A spokesperson for the event says that procedures have been put in place to ensure animal safety.
