ASIO Officers have taken custody of a number of cabinet documents obtained by the ABC, containing numerous secret cabinet deliberations and national security positions over several governments.
The ABC had earlier obtained these documents after being found in a locked filing cabinet sold at an auction in ex-government furniture in Canberra.
The ABC has released a statement about the return of the documents, reaching an agreement with the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet on the securing and the returning of the documents.
