A recent Deloitte report on the Mining sector has started a call for greater diversity on mining company boards.
David Cormack, consulting mining leader for Deloitte, said that the larger mining companies have already begun diversifying in both gender and culture, citing the need for ‘experience of different thinking by people from various backgrounds’.
However, there have been concerns raised by mining board members, who believe that setting quotas for gender representation could possibly lead to poor decision making.
