Brisbane's last video rental store is set to close its doors on Valentine’s Day after years of pressure on the industry from more popular video streaming services.
With Network Video in Oxley announcing its closure on Facebook yesterday, this marks the closure of the last video rental store in Brisbane, with the closest now being a Blockbuster located outside city borders in Springwood.
Owner of the store, Brenton Snell, attributed the decline of the video-rental industry to the ease and simplicity of online media streaming services such as Netflix and Stan.
