Farmers have expressed their concern after seeing an increasing number of tourists streaming onto their fields to take selfies, leaving a trampled trail of destroyed paddocks and crops.

Sunflower grower Craig Smith says hundreds of tourists had been caught leaving rubbish, trespassing, and stealing sunflower heads.

Chair of the Australian Sunflower Association, Kevin Charlesworth says that whilst biosecurity was a small risk, tourists need to be more aware of farmers’ property despite their interests concerning social media.
