The Federal Government will propose an extra $30 billionĀ for public hospitals over five years for the state governments, although some Labor states are unwilling to agree to the deal.

State and territory premiers and chief ministers are meeting in Canberra today where the deal will be proposed at the Council of Australian Governments (COAG).

Some Labor state governments are refusing to sign on to deal, preferring instead for the funds cut by the Abbott Government to be restored.
