Queensland Health authorities are looking to track down individuals who may have possibly come into contact with a man who died of diphtheria.
Diphtheria is caused by bacteria and results primarily in swelling in the nose, throat and windpipe, which can cause breathing difficulties.
The Australian Medical Association Queensland has confirmed the man was not vaccinated against the disease, which was extremely rare.
