The Long Johns kick off Green Jam 2018
this Friday 2 February 2018

Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s (QPAC) much-loved free Friday music sessions return on 2 February as four-piece posse The Long Johns jump start Green Jam for 2018 on the Melbourne Street Green with their spooky country music and old timey swing.

Featuring a line-up of banjos, sousaphone, National guitar and pots and pans, The Long Johns are guaranteed to bring a tincture of dark country and barnyard bangers.

Revel in the twang of the banjo, the rumble of the sousaphone and the ring of the spittoon, the creak of the door, the crow of the rooster and the stomping of floorboards.

The band will hit the trails with the stagecoaches blazing, delivering the debut single Clubfootin’ - which put them on the road to Woodford Folk Festival to excite and delight crowds many times over – among other favourites.

The Long Johns are Sian Evans (vox/banjo/guitar), Richard Needham (drums), Steven Buchanan (sousaphone) and Paul Watson (guitar/banjo).

Gather a crew and make a night of it, as the special Green Jam menu takes inspiration from Korea, with chefs serving up bulgogi bao, kimchi pancakes, BBQ chicken skewers with gochujang mayo and cabbage and mushroom dumplings with dipping sauce.

Heritage Bank continues its long-term support of Green Jam in 2018, helping QPAC to provide regular free performances, and a platform for established and emerging artists to broaden their audience.
