An arachnologist from the Queensland Museum has shared his secret to finding spiders by using the vibrations of his four-wheel-drive.

Dr Robert Raven says the vibrations agitate the spiders to the point where they run towards the perceived dangerous vibrations.

Vibrations are used extensively in animal communication, especially with spiders, and extreme vibration can distress them, disorienting their inner calibration and navigation, causing them to act unusually.
