Residents in northern Western Australia have been told to prepare for more dangerous weather with a category 3 cyclone expected to hit the region.
Heavy rain and strong winds have already been recorded with some places receiving 100mm of rain and wind gusts of 80km/h.
The cyclone is expected to further intensify to a category two cyclone before making landfall as a severe category 3 system during Saturday or early Sunday.
