The saga of Macquarie Street continued after Shadow Planning chairman, Councillor Jared Cassidy, said he will bring a motion of debate against the development in the upcoming City Planning Committee.
Residents have been resisting development applications over the past six years and are worried the addition of this 73 unit, 16 storey complex, originally planned at 11 stories, would heavily impact on the street’s public amenity.
Residents’ ability to appeal the development in the Planning & Environment Court have been hampered by its inclusion under Brisbane City Council’s City Plan.
