Living conditions on Australia's offshore processing centre Nauru was found to contain “highly toxic” levels of mould measured up to 76 times the safe level found in rotting tents and buildings in which asylum seekers are forced to live.

Over the past four years, the Australian government was repeatedly warned of mould making people sick, with at least 330 refugees and asylum seekers, including 36 children, still living in mould-prone tents.

Australian law firms were considering a class action against the Commonwealth Government for failing in the duty of care for those who lived and worked in Nauru.
