High rent has left shops empty and caused the rise of anti-social behaviour in Adelaide’s CBD.
City of Adelaide Councillor Anne Moran wants higher rates to force landlords to reduce rent and fill their premises as they will need tenants to help pay for the higher rates.
Councillor Moran said empty shops pay less rates as they’re not using any services.
