Brisbane City Council Lord Mayor Graham Quirk has given employees a pay rise while bypassing a ballot to be taken prior to the raises being issued.
The pay rise comes after the council negotiated the increase since October 2016 with workers represented by 11 unions.
The wage increase will involve a rise of 2.5 per cent each year over a 3 year period, to be backdated from the 8th of October, 2017.
