Australia’s reliance on the USA’s space resources could be a potential risk for national security.
The Australian Strategic Policy Institute said the country’s inadequate space capabilities could be an issue if conflict ever arose in the Asia-Pacific.
A senior analyst at the institute, Malcolm Davis, said “Space is no longer a sanctuary from warfare, and countries that normally provide Australia support, like America, might have to prioritise their own needs over ours.”
