A 99-year-old Australian man has broken the 50-meter freestyle world record at Gold Coast trials.
George Corones, who turns 100 in April, completed the 50-meter freestyle swim in 56.12 seconds, the only swimmer in his age group.
Although he had always been a keen swimmer, Corones says that he only began competing when he turned 80.
