Peter Madsen, the Danish inventor accused of torturing and murdering journalist Kim Wall has pleaded not guilty as his trial began in Copenhagen yesterday.
Madsen asserts Wall died accidentally because of a pressure problem on his submarine, but admits to dismembering her body and disposing of it at sea.
Kim Walls death has raised concerns about the safety of female freelance journalists around the world, with an international report stating one in five female reporters will experience physical violence in relation to their job.
