A landmark case in the Northern Territory is set to challenge government approved land clearance on the grounds of climate change impact.
The case is thought to be the first of its kind in Australia led by the Northern Territory Environment Centre seeking to overturn the clearance approval based on greenhouse gas emissions.
The clearance covers an area three times the size of Manhattan and is likely to cause up to 3 megatonnes of C02-equivalent greenhouse gas emissions.
