Indigenous children and children from lower socioeconomic backgrounds continue to be over represented despite a new report stating one in thirty-two children being subject to a protection investigation last year.
Despite the cases of abuse against Indigenous children increasing, the report reveals the number of child protection removals has significantly decreased.
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) released the report after the national outcry about child safety.
