Israel’s supreme court has ordered a former Melbourne school principal to be kept in Australian police custody due to over 74 allegations of indecent assault and rape against former students.

Survivors of the abuse and advocates thoroughly reject the magistrates court’s decision to possibly allow Malka Leifer to leave custody and enter home detention due to claims of mental illness.

After an appeal, the supreme court has ordered Leifer to stay in custody and is currently considering transferring her to house arrest.
