Scientists in Hobart have found a new weapon on the war on plastic - the humble Krill.
Research has found Krill are unknowingly eating micro-plastics found in our oceans and breaking them down into smaller neo-plastics through their digestive systems.
Although more study is needed, scientists say they are extremely surprised by the discovery and the potential impact these tiny crustaceans have to break down plastics.
