Authorities are issuing warnings to be on the lookout for crocodiles and snakes in unexpected areas after extreme flooding in Queensland’s North.

The warning follows increased sightings of crocodiles and brown snakes in extremely flooded areas, with authorities urging all residents living in affected zones to report all sightings.

According to crocodile researcher Toby Millyard, the increased sightings are attributed to the crocodiles search for food in land previously unavailable to them, however should pose no threat to humans unless provoked.
