28 car parks will be removed from the Southbank riverside area to make way for a multimillion dollar bikeway upgrade.
$5 million dollars will be spent on bike paths and associated infrastructure, with early stages of the project to enlarge the path connecting Dock Street and the Goodwill Bridge which is too narrow for its current level of traffic.
The upgrade will be funded by the $100 million dollars set aside by the Brisbane City Council for improvements to Brisbane’s active transport network before 2020.
