23 Russian Diplomats have been ordered to leave the United Kingdom after the attempted assassination of a former Russian intelligence operative on British soil with a Soviet-era nerve agent.

UK authorities are holding the Russian State responsible for the act, though Russian authorities deny their involvement.

In addition to the expulsion of the diplomats who have been identified as undeclared intelligence officers, British ministers and members of the royal family will no longer attend the 2018 football world cup in Russia, and the British government is considering plans to freeze some Russian state assets in the UK.
