Facebook has removed the page of British political organisation Britain First, citing violations of it’s hate speech policies.

Britain First used the page to host the false and misleading videos about islamic extremism that were shared by US President Donald Trump and Former Major General of the Australian Army and current senator for New South Wales James Molan.

The organisation’s rhetoric was invoked by the murderer of British MP Jo Cox in 2016.

The expulsion of Britain First from Facebook comes in the face of continued criticism that the social network has done too little to combat the proliferation of extremist political content on the platform.
