President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte, has withdrawn his nation’s ratification of the Rome statute, which created the International Criminal Court administered by the United Nations.

He accused the International Criminal Court and UN of running a “baseless, unprecedented and outrageous attacks on my person,” in the wake of a war on drugs which has resulted in an estimated 8,000 extrajudicial killings.

Youth party Kabataan representative Sarah Elago said ,“Only the guilty become too eager to run away from prosecution.”
