Data from the most recent Census shows a large increase in homelessness among people in the 19-24 year old age bracket.

Analysing data from 2006 to 2016, every state except Northern Territory has observed growth in this area, ranging from 13% in Queensland to 117% in New South Wales, with a nationwide average of 46%.

Homelessness experts are calling for a reform of the taxation system, which is driving house prices up through encouraging the ownership of multiple properties.
