Dutton Asked To Retract Comments On South Africa

South Africa has asked Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton to retract his comments saying South Africa’s white farmers are being "persecuted" and deserve protection with special visas from a "civilised country".

The South African Foreign Ministry said in a statement that their government is offended by the comments and are expecting a full retraction.

Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack does not think the disagreement would affect the nation's diplomatic relations with South Africa.
