Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes has been charged with $700m worth of fraud, and fined $500,000.

The company is famous for their breakthrough blood test invention “Edison”, which allowed anyone to get a test at their local pharmacy and have it analysed within hours.

An investigative report by the Wall Street Journal's John Carreyrou revealed test results were inaccurate and the vast majority were not done in Theranos labs but in conventional machines bought from mainstream suppliers.
