The Australian Government has forced individuals who are above the Centrelink threshold to repay more than 40 million dollars.
Human Services Minister Michael Keenan said that on average, these people have $43,000, meaning they’re unable to qualify for payments.
Centrelink has been working with Australia's financial intelligence agency to locate these people with unexplained amounts of money.
