Indigenous rangers will use a new bilingual app developed by the Central Land Council to track bilby sightings and habits in a new “Bilby Blitz” program.

The rangers will log bilby movements, diggings and burrows to help gain information about the endangered species.

The app will be available in English and Warlpiri, and will be expanded to include other central desert languages, such as Pintupi, Warlmanpa and Arrernte, over the next 12 months.
