A Commonwealth Games worker has been struck in the face by a temporary wire fence outside Carrara Stadium yesterday afternoon as a helicopter was taking off.
An unnamed motorist told the Gold Coast Bulletin a massive section of the fence just came crashing down.
The worker was treated by an on-site medical team before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital and treated for laceration to his forehead.
