A liquid spray that could protect coral along the Great Barrier Reef is being trialled by a team of researchers.

The spray is biodegradable, 50 000 times thinner than a human hair and sits on the surfae of water above corals to protect against the sun’s UV and light.

Trials that have already begun report that the spray reduces the amount of light reaching the coral by 20% which improves coral health.
