Queensland’s Government Minister, Stirling Hinchliffe, believes he should be given the power to sack local mayors.
This request comes after Logan mayor Luke Smith, has refused to stand down after being charged with corruption.
Mr Smith is accused of lying to the Crime and Corruption Commission, who are subsequently calling for his removal.
