Gold Coast businessman Michael Issakidis held broken records with his involvement in a $135 million dollar tax scandal, said to be the largest successfully prosecuted avoidance case in Australian history.

The Serious Financial Crime Taskforce uncovered the scheme involving tax havens, aliases, and non-existent companies, making up nearly $450 million dollars of fraudulent deduction claims.

Issakidis was sentenced to a minimum of seven years, with his co-conspirators receiving at least ten.
