Woolworths is banning single-use plastic bags from June 20, forcing customers to buy reusable or canvas bags if they forget to bring their own.
More than 800 shops across Australia are making the switch, including Woolworths' supermarkets, BWS liquor stores, Metro Stores and petrol stations.
The switch comes just 10 days before the July 1 deadline implemented by National Retailers Association QLD.
