Brisbane City Council has received a multi-million dollar proposal to upgrade the North West Private Hospital in Everton Park.
The hospitals chief-executive Chris Murphy says an expansion is needed due to an increase in demand for its services from an ageing population.
Mr Murphy says the extension would establish an intensive care unit and provide a 50 per cent increase in hospital beds.
