A internal memo to staff at a Queensland aged care facility reveals residents were given tiny meals and left in toilets for prolonged periods of time.

The memo sent out at the Bundaberg nursing home showed that residents were going unfed, being left unattended for long periods of time and were being sponged instead of showered.

An assessment team also observed a staff member checking the temperature of a resident’s food by touching the food to their lip, then feeding that food to the resident.
