A Western Australian farmer, Geoff Waters is being praised for his efforts to keep his small town’s hospital running following a power loss during a freak storm over the Easter weekend.

When his town’s hospital ran out of fuel on the weekend during a 48-hour-power-cut Mr Waters was the first to donate nearly 600 liters of diesel.

The fuel he donated helped keep the generator running which kept medications and vaccines that needed to be refrigerated from going off. It also prevented the hospital from shifting 8 patients to other facilities.
