US President Donald Trump has instructed his trade officials and economic advisors to review rejoining the Trans-Pacific Partnership, an 11-nation trade deal the country withdrew from when he first took office in 2017.
The decision marks a sudden turnaround for Trump, whose officials have repeatedly said he prefers bilateral negotiations.
Critics say the USA’s exit from the deal allowed China to strengthen its trade dominance in the region.
