The African athletes missing from the Commonwealth Games could have legitimate reasons to seek asylum in Australia.
A Gold Coast migration agent said he has spoken to more than 40 athletes who have inquired about how to stay in Australia.
In Cameroon they have a terrorist threat and human rights problems which could be why 8 of their athletes have fled the games.
